Barry has 25+ years of sales management and coaching experience while working within various industries including: data/analytics, software, technology and publishing. As a multiple award winning sales representative at Dun & Bradstreet, Barry had success driving new business early in his career and was quickly promoted to managing the largest customers in the Western US. Barry’s first leadership responsibility was managing a veteran team when he was Sales Manager in Los Angeles, which resulted in 5 out of 6 reps hitting quota, and 3 reps winning the President’s Club award (and a trip to Hawaii!) This experience taught Barry the benefit of implementing effective motivational techniques, how to coach for performance, and how to build strong sales teams.
As a VP Sales for D&B, Barry led a $100m+ region and developed and implemented the strategic plans that enabled the business to grow over 30% during his tenure. In addition, he created a coaching program where team members identified developmental areas based on need, interest, and responsibilities. The success of this coaching program led to the lowest employee turnover rate in the country, the highest employee satisfaction results in the country, and the top sales results two years straight.
After D&B, Barry started his own executive recruiting firm specializing in identifying and placing sales professionals in industries like: technology, data & analytics, digital advertising, and financial services. He provides precision coaching to his candidates which helps him maintain an excellent placement vs. submission ratio of over 50% for the last 5 years.
Barry received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University - Fullerton, School of Business and Economics.
