John Harms

Managing Principal

John has over 34 years experience in business development, marketing and sales in the technology, aerospace and defense markets for both small and large companies. After graduating from West Point, John completed his active duty military service in 1980. At that time, he joined Space Applications Corporation (SAC), a small systems engineering and software development company providing technical services in space sciences and advanced intelligence technologies.

As the Business Development Director, John demonstrated his strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and build a highly successful sales team. After 18 years of continued growth, the company was sold and John joined the Boeing Company. Initially he was responsible for pursuit and capture of government communications and information management programs. Outstanding performance led to increased levels of responsibility as a business development executive at the VP level.

In 2009, he was selected to lead the 45-person Business Development team of Phantom Works, the advanced arm of the Defense and Security side of Boeing. During his five-year tenure in this position, he led the team to a competitive winning percentage of over 90% and record revenue growth.

Throughout his career, John has demonstrated his strength in structuring strong strategies and building strategic partnerships with external agencies and organizations leading to successful sales campaigns ranging $10 - $100M+ in value.

Based on his strong leadership, he was selected as one of four internal candidates to become certified as a Huthwaite Customer Engagement Initiative instructor. In this capacity he helped to train over 600 business development professionals at Boeing.

John brings to RedCard Solutions in-depth experiences in today’s complex domestic and international sales environment, where the sales organization must effectively engage customers, understand their capability gaps and formulate winning strategies to connect the value of solutions to these requirements.
